Hello,
Hope you can help answer some of my questions. First some background:
Age: 31
Undergrad: Engineering (graduated /w honors)
GMAT: 680 (highest)
Work: Technical and proj management experience in high-tech engineering. Dotted line, but no direct reports (may get those this year)
Objective: Transfer to business development in a large high tech company
Extras: Mainly hobbies such as hiking etc.
I applied to full time top-tier MBA programs for 2008 as I thought it would give me the best chance at exploring career options but I did not get in, not even a waitlist. In 2007 I retook the GMAT several times (about 5) scoring in the 640-670 range, all worse than my initial highest score.
So my questions are:
- Should I take the GMAT again? I score well in practice tests but can't reproduce the score on the actual.
- If I do anything now (such as start a club etc.), would it be beneficial as an extra curricular for my 2009 applications?
- Do I have a chance at top-tier full-time programs (interested in Stanford, MIT, Berkeley)? Would SBC encourage this or be able to help me with these apps?
- Are part time (executive) programs a better choice for me (interested in Berekeley part time, Wharton west)? Would SBC encourage this or be able to help me with these apps?
Thanks in advance for your help!
