The quick answer is "Yes, some of the OG questions will have the same difficulty level as the questions you will see on test day"

The OG questions range from very easy to very difficult.
The difficulty level of the questions on the actual GMAT will depend on you, since the test is computer adaptive. So, for example, if you correctly answer only a few questions, then the GMAT will throw a lot of easy questions at you. The difficulty level of these questions will be the same as some of the questions in the OG.
If you correctly answer lots questions, then you will receive difficult questions. The difficulty level of these questions will be the same as some of the questions in the OG.

Cheers,
Brent

Hi Brent,

Thanks for sharing such an important info.
I have read several times in different forums, that candidate scored good in mock exam, but didn't do well in actual test.
Can you please let me know what mock exams we should give before the test date. (mock exams, which is having the same difficulty level as of GMAT),so that one can know how well he is prepared.

Thanks a lot Brent.

Does that mean that you will a more difficult overall exam if you answer questions correct? So the exam gets harder as you answer more question correct?

The best practice tests are the official GMATPrep tests. These feature retired GMAT questions, use the same GMAT interface, and they use the official scoring algorithm. These tests will provide the most accurate assessment of your current abilities.

You can download the free test software at: https://www.mba.com/the-gmat/download-fr ... n-software

Keep in mind that, although the software has only 2 practice tests, you can take each test multiple times. I wrote an article concerning this: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/2010/03/ ... iple-times

Cheers,
Brent

Exactly - this is the computer-adaptive nature of the test.

Here's a snippet from the official MBA.com site (at https://www.mba.com/the-gmat/test-struct ... iming.aspx)

How does it work?
For each multiple-choice section of the GMAT exam, there is a large pool of potential questions ranging from a low to high level of difficulty. Each section of the test starts with a question of moderate difficulty. If you answer the first question correctly, the computer will usually give you a harder question. If you answer the first question incorrectly, your next question will be easier. This process will continue until you complete the section, at which point the computer will have an accurate assessment of your ability level in that subject area.

Cheers,
Brent

Well, you've come to the right place, anubhavgulati :-)

I would guess that every GMATPrep question has been answers at least once (probably more like 5+ times) on this site.

Just perform a Search on a portion of the question, and see what you find. Alternatively, post your questions to the various forums, and you won't have to wait long for a response.

Cheers,
Brent
