Not sure if there is a formula other than process of elimination

Since the highest value is asked start from E) 50

Since the median is 25 which is the 8th number in the list of 15 there are 7 values above it and 7 values below it.

If we take 50 as the highest then the 7 numbers below 25 has to be lesser than that. We can achieve the best case by uisng consecutive intgers

18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25---------50

Range > 25

take the highest to be 43

43 - 18 = 25 Works

Choose D)

here is something else I did and I landed with a perfectly wrong answer: 37.

Since the range is 25, I assumed the median could represent half the range
say 12 (or 12.5).
so I did median + range/2
25 +12 = 37

Any thoughts on this one..

i guess this can be used if we know that numbers are sequential (or maybe in AP - if it is AP I might need to * with d )

thanks

I dont think this works and hence u may have landed on 37

1 2 1000000

The median is nowhere close to the range.

Thanks Cramya,
This illustrates one more time how the test makers figure out a wrong answer choice, ready it to spring a trap.
