Q) Which one is correct?

In Aztec society, childbirth was compared to warfare, and women who died in labor were honored in the same way as men who died in the battle.

OR

In Aztec society, childbirth was compared to warfare, and women who died in labor were honored just as men who died in the battle.

The first one sounds better. The meaning is more clear and the comparison is more logical.

In the first one it is comparing the "way" men and women were honored.

i would say neither..

were honored just as ...were honored

both are missing a verb.
