Please help me out with this problem. I just can't figure it out! A detailed explanation would be much appreciated!
You have 6 pictures A, B, C, D, E and F. However, you have only 4 frames (side by side on the wall) where you can place just 4 pictures - one in each frame.
a) In how many ways can you arrange 4 pictures in the 4 frames on the wall?
b) In how many ways can you arrange 4 pictures, if every arrangement must have the picture A in it?
c) Your sister too wanted to arrange 4 pictures in the 4 frames, but she would never include the picture A in any of the arrangements. In how many ways can she do that?
