SC help!

by steveyb » Sat Nov 22, 2008 12:33 pm
I just started studying for the GMAT a couple days ago, and am taking the test in early January. I know SC is my weakest area. I feel lost when looking at a sentence, and am vague at best with the concepts such as idiom and logical predication.

I average about 1 wrong answer for every 5 questions with the OG questions. I am good with math because I know exactly what to do and how to solve the equation. With SC, I have no idea what to do - I basically just look at all of the choices and figure out which one sounds best. I am getting better, but feel that if I had a better system/thought process, I could improve at a faster rate.

So I guess my question is - should I spend more time studying the concepts, doing practice problems, or what? How can I improve my thought process for each question?

Sorry if I am rambling but those are my problems and I would be very appreciative for any insight on how to get better at SC. Thanks!
