Absolute Value?!?

by awilhelm » Fri Nov 07, 2008 9:15 pm
OG #20

Of the five coordinates -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, which has the greatest absolute value?

A) -2
B) -1
C) 0
D) 1
E) 2

OA is A, but how is the absolute value of -2 any greater than the absolute value of 2? Are they not both the same distance from zero?

Thanks for your help!
