It depends actually!!

I am from an Engineering Background and so it's quiet obvious that social science topic does not interest me, and as a result I lose my concentration and commit mistake.

Same may be true for People who study humanities, they may find topics related to science difficult to comprehend just because those topics don't excite them

You need to read from variety of topics to help you having a grasp on topics outside your domain, even I am also having the same problem, hope I will overcome that In time to come.
