Is x + y even?

(1) xy is even.

(2) y / x is odd.

1. Product can be even , if atleast 1 number is even.

e.g x = 4 , y = 3 xy = 12 , x+ y odd

or x = 4 , y = 4 , xy = 16 x+y even

NOT Suff

2. y/x is odd

y/x can be odd , if num is odd and denom is odd

e.g y = 15 , x = 5

or

if num is even and denom is even

e.g y = 24 , x = 8

In both the cases
x+y is even .

hence suff
