remainder problem with decimals OG 12th edition PS#106

I am confused by the Official Guide's explanation of question #106 in the problem solving section. It is an easy question remainder problem, but the decimal is throwing me off.

"When positive integer x is divided by positive integer y, the remainder is 9. If x/y = 96.12, what is the value of y?"

The answer should be 75, but I am having trouble coming up with this answer. Not sure what I am missing, probably something simple.

since by doing x/y you get a remainder of 9, and in decimal terms x/y = 96.12 we know that the remainder divided by y gives us 0.12.
So we get 9/y=0.12 => 900/12=y => y=75
