The table attached shows the temperatures, in degrees Fahrenheit, in a city in Hawaii over a one-week period. If m represents the median temperature, f represents the temperature that occurs most often, and a represents the average (arithmetic mean) of the seven temperatures, which of the following is the correct order of m, f, and a?
(A) a < m < f
(B) a < f < m
(C) m < a < f

The temperatures are:

(in increasing order): 66, 69, 70, 75, 77, 78, 78
Median temperature: 75 (m)
Most often temperature: 78 (f)
Average temperature: 513/7 = 73.28 (a)

Therefore, order should be a < m < f.

Is this what your answer is ? I can't seem to find a choice similar to this... [/i]

Median, m = 75
Mode, f = 78
Average, a = 73.2
So, 73.2 < 75 < 78 that is a < m < f

The correct answer is (A).
