Parallelism

by yellowho » Sun Mar 13, 2011 7:04 am
Providing initial evidence that airports are a larger source of pollution than they were once believed to be, environmentalists in Chicago report that the total amount of pollutant emitted annually by vehicles at the O'hare International airport is twice as much as that which is being emitted annually by all motor vehicles in the Chicago Metro area

A) as much as that which is being emitted annually by all
B) as much annually as is emitted by the
C) as much compared to what is annually emitted by all
D) that emitted annually by all
E) that emitted annually compared to

Between B and D. Can someone please explain the parallelism error in B.

B is wrong as the scenario requires "all" to make sense.
Charged up again to beat the beast :)

Both of your reasons are actually discussed here as point of elimination
here:https://www.manhattangmat.com/forums/pro ... t6934.html

HSPA's concern is echoed a little bit but its not the main concern
Maihuna, your concern is not an adequate reason to eliminate (per Ron)

The main issue here is parallelism. I still don't see the parallelism error in B.

the marker her is "as much as". LHS should parallel RHS?
