Idiom and Parallelism

Unlike X,Y

X and Y have to be parallel
C) Unlike cigarette tobacco, which yields an acid smoke, pipe tobacco, cured by age-old methods, yields an alkaline smoke

The Bold part is parallel to the underline part

Rest of the Options have no parallel answers

Hope this Helps

I dont understand how C is correct..I feel that cured by age old methods modifies pipe tobacco in option C which seems wrong to me..

Option D is a better comparison(with correctly placed modifiers) for me..

Experts can you please comment!!!

IMO it shd be C.

A, B - incoorectly compares the acid smoke of cigrattes to pipe tobacco.
D is Unidiomatic. better to use Unlike.
E is wordy and also usage of 'in that' is incorrect.
