Multiply every term by 33 (LCM of the denominators)

13*3*11 = 11x + 105*3

105 = 5*7*3

13*3*11 - 5*7*3*3 = 11x

factoring 3 out

3 (13*11 - 5*7*3) = 11x

3(143 - 105) = 11x

38*3 = 11x

x = 114/11 ~ 10

13 = x/3 + 105/11

You can think of 105/11 as 9 + 6/11. This will make the numbers smaller once you subtract

3 5/11 = x/3
38/11 =x/3 no canceling up, down left or right.

11x = 114
x = 114/11
