Undergrad GPA question

by sme0928 » Sat Aug 15, 2009 6:41 am
Hello,
I am looking to start a Part Time program next year. I am looking at USC, Pepperdine, and Loyola Marymount. I took my undergrad classes at UC Santa Cruz where I received Pass/No Pass along with detailed narrative evaluations on my performance.

Looking back after almost 8 years, I realize that was probably not the best option. My question is do I have a chance at getting into any of those part time programs? Should I just give up on my goal now?

I have 8 Years of progressive financial experience and right now I am a Sr Analyst with Walt Disney.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

-Steve

Dear Steve,

Absolutely do not give up! Of course you still have a chance of getting into these programs. Your application is more than one component and you should not let UC Santa Cruz's performance system hold you back. I would not be surprised if all of your target programs are familiar with this grading system and have had plenty of applicants from UC Santa Cruz in the past. As long as there is an explanation on your official transcript, which there always is, you should move forward on your applications.

Good luck,
Lisa
