should i even try applying to grad schools? i am afraid of rejections.

It will be difficult to get into a strong program with your current scores. You didn't mention the type of prep work you've been doing. However, you should consider a course or study guide to help you pinpoint your areas of weakness and boost your score. That said, not everyone can achieve a high score on the GMAT. If you find this to be the case, aim for your best score and highlight your strengths when you apply to graduate school. You might also consider looking at programs that accept the GRE. Sometimes people are able to get better scores on the GRE than the GMAT.
