Transcripts for NYU

by MonicaK » Fri Feb 01, 2013 5:08 pm
NYU requires candidates submit photocopies that have been verified by the embassy or consulate of the institution's country.

My question to students who did their under-grad from India (or admission consultants) -
How did you get the documents verified? I have been in the US for about 10 years and have all the originals with me. Its very hard to get in touch with my under-grad school or travel to India to get the documents verified. Has anyone had a similar situation?
Can the verification be done in the US?

Appreciate any help.

Monica

You do not need photo copies:

"All official academic transcripts must be original documents bearing the institutional seal and signature of the institution's registrar. They must be submitted in the original, sealed envelope from the institution or the embassy or consulate providing verification of authenticity. "

You should be able to have the institution send a transcript. Just talk with someone at the program, this process is usually pretty easy.
