Idiom

Can someone please explain me what the antecedent of "it" is in "made it possible"?

Ex: "X & Y have built a house and, despite all adverse factors, have made it possible for others to live there."

Thank you.

it refers to " building a house" despite of all adverse factors they build the house and now people can live there.
