I came across this sentence in Manhattan's SC :

Matt trains in many ways such as by driving on racetracks.

Can anyone explain why it is wrong ? Such as is supposed to be followed by an example and it is so in the above sentence.

"by driving on racetracks" is an adverb, and such as should be followed by a noun.
