Doctor's parents and patients

by gmatblood » Thu Oct 20, 2011 9:28 am
The doctor observed the butterfly rash on her patient's arm and the patient's evident fatigue, which was consistent with the symptoms of Lupus.

(A) which was consistent with the symptoms
(B) which were consistent with the symptoms
(C) that were consistent with those
(D) which symptoms were consistent with symptoms
(E) symptoms which were consistent with those

IMO:
B/E
I feel OPTION E is the correct answer.

it clearly conveys the intended meaning of the sentence.

IMO E gives clear meaning with symptoms modifying both fatigue and the rash followed by 'which' referring to the symptoms.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.

all the options with "which" in the beginning wrong.

Choose E.

OA?
If OA is A, IMO B
If OA is B, IMO C
If OA is C, IMO D
If OA is D, IMO E
If OA is E, IMO A

FML!! :/

B - which stands for 'patient's arm and the patient's evident fatigue'(This is bcoz of presence of 'WERE'). Therefore, ARM AND FATIGUE are compared with SYMPTOMS.

E-clearly suggests that 'patient's arm and the patient's evident fatigue' are SYMPTOMS and therefore SYMPTOMS are compared with SYMPTOMS of lupus

IMO E

A little confused with B.

If we write this as X and Y.

X=the butterfly rash on her patient's arm
Y=the patient's evident fatigue

Then, even B looks write. Though I have already said in my above post, E should be preferred over B but can some expert give some sound reasoning of eliminating B?

Thanks.
