i've done one thursday study hall video focusing on modifiers (dated 23/sep/2010), in which i discussed appositive modifiers along with a couple of other frequently misused modifier constructions.
(extra credit: the above sentence contains a present participle modifier. for extra practice, find it, and find what it's modifying)
what i *won't* do in the thursday study halls is a general overview of the principal/most important modifier rules -- because that's covered in our paid course!
the goal of the study halls is to give complimentary offerings that are useful and keep us in touch with students worldwide, while at the same time
not giving away substantial fractions of our paid course for free. i.e., we want to hand out quality bits of content, but ... we also have to pay our bills. |:
so, we'll do lots of thursday study halls -- there are already something like 30 of them online -- but they will always consist of relatively narrow, focused topics.
