(1)-->x>5 and x<-5
(2)-->x>-3.5

C

Stmt I

|x| > 5

INSUFF

Stmt II

x> -3.5

INSUFF

Together

x>5 if x>-3.5 and |x|>5 then x > +5

Hope I dint miss something here.

C it is...but do u need to go by the mod way

i feel .....since x> 5 and x<-5 from 1

and from st 2 x > - 3.5

from 1 and 2 together x > 5

I am not sure if my reasoning is correct!!!

|x|> 5 boils down to

x>5
x<-5

We essentially did the same thing...
