Hi all. I've been reading the site to learn about the GMAT and devise a strategy to "beat the GMAT". I figure blogging/posting is a great way to track my progress, keep myself committed, and gather much needed support along the way.

So...here is what I have done so far:

- Purchased an online course from Knewton. Have read about their course on this site and despite the newness of the company, decided to take a chance. Really could not beat the discounted price ($590 vs. much more for other prep courses). So far I have taken my baseline test but have not had classes. I am impressed by the look and feel of the interface and how they create calendars and reminders for you. Not sure about the feedback that was available on the site post-test. My feeling is that more than any content I will learn from the courses, mostly I need practice with the tests and seeing through the tricks.

- Purchased the full set of books from MGMAT. Idea here is to supplement Knewton material with a company that I know to be reputable and that uses material from the OG. I have also taken a practice test from this site - really, really impressed with the post-test analysis of my performance. There are a lot of ways to assess areas of relative weakness which will be important as I anticipate having to create my own study plan (vs. go with what is prescribed to everyone in the online courses).

Results (I'm embarrassed to admit but that is part of the process right?):
-Knewton Diagnostic CAT: 570
-MGMAT Diagnostic CAT: 640

Please feel free to comment or give me feedback! Thanks and good luck!
