One month till the exam - target score 720+

Hey guys,

first of all, thank you all for the awesome resources posted here on the forums, you have all been of great help already. I am getting to the final stages of my GMAT preparation with slightly less than one month till the exam (Dec 3rd being the test date). I have been trying to study for about 3 hours a day with slightly more on the weekends whenever possible.

So far I have done 3 GMAT Prep tests with scores of 700, 710, 730 and one MGMAT test with a score of 700. Usually I get about 44 Quant which I would like to get a little higher since it has been dragging my score down. I have read all the MGMAT quant books but Geometry, which I plan to review shortly. Haven't really touched the Verbal books yet, since my score in verbal is always in the 90+ percentile, the best I got was 47 in verbal.

What do you think the best strategy would be to get my quant score up some more? I have always had problems with maths. The the word translations present the biggest issue and also take up the most time. I think I pretty much understand all the concepts in the books. The translation from words to algebra, especially in the 700+ question banks seems to be the issue (and also is terribly time consuming).

My plan is to read the SC book and focus on doing at least one whole test a week and also to review all the quant problems and basically just count count count, but I am wondering if there might be a better approach...

Or maybe I could focus on the verbal part and make sure I get to the 99% there and just hope I get the 44 in quant which should get me the roughly 720 score... but it seems like a little too risky strategy especially with more than 3 weeks of time until the test.

Any comments / suggestions are greatly appreciated. And good luck to all of you who are still studying for the exam! :)

The best way to improve Quant is to actually SOLVE a few problems. If word problems are your short comings, practice more of those. I found the Kaplan 800 Math section as good practice material. For me, GMAT Math is doable and anyone can improve it with constant practice. Good Luck!!
