Idiom usage of "serve"

Created by the Pennsylvania Committee of Safety on July 6, 1775, the Pennsylvania Navy served America from the Revolutionary War until the formation of the U.S. Navy in 1798.

OA is A. But I do not think that "served America from" is correct idiomatic usage?

Any thoughts?

You are missing a point here buddy........

served from is not the phrase....

served is just acting as a verb.... the phrase is from...until...

Point taken. So, which one would be more preferable-

Created by the Pennsylvania Committee of Safety on July 6, 1775, the Pennsylvania Navy served America from the Revolutionary War until the formation of the U.S. Navy in 1798.

OR

Created by the Pennsylvania Committee of Safety on July 6, 1775, the Pennsylvania Navy served America in the Revolutionary War until the formation of the U.S. Navy in 1798.

def first one....from...until is correct

in...until is an incorrect idiom

Adding to Dream's explaination,

1.Created by the Pennsylvania Committee of Safety on July 6, 1775, the Pennsylvania Navy served America in the Revolutionary War. - Correct Sentence (provided you drop the remaining sentence)

2. Created by the Pennsylvania Committee of Safety on July 6, 1775, the Pennsylvania Navy served America from the Revolutionary War until the formation of the U.S. Navy in 1798. - Correct
--Actually, in the above sentence the intent is to point out from what time to what time the Pennsylvania Navy served America i.e. The Duration...so we are using FROM and UNTIL.

I was referring the same question in PS SC bible and thought I will write my doubt in the same thread.

Created by the Pennsylvania Committee of Safety on July 6, 1775 , the Pennsylvania Navy served America from the Revolutionary War until the formation of the U.S. Navy in 1798.

A) same

B) Pennsylvania's Navy served America from the Revolutionary War

I narrowed down my best answer option to A and B but was indecisive on why I need to eliminate B.
