We want to roll two dice and have the dice show distinct (different) odd numbers.

For the first dice roll, we have 3 possibilities: 1, 3, and 5.

For the second dice roll, we have 2 possibilities: the two odd numbers that weren't rolled the first time.

So for each of the 3 possibilities for the first dice roll, we have 2 possibilities for the second dice roll. This gives 3 * 2 = 6 possibilities in total.

We can write out the possibilities to confirm:

1st: 1; 2nd: 3
1st: 1; 2nd: 5
1st: 3; 2nd: 1
1st: 3; 2nd: 5
1st: 5; 2nd: 1
1st: 5; 2nd: 3

The probability that the first die shows an odd number is 3/6 = 1/2. The probability thatf the second die shows a distinct odd number is 2/6 = 1/3.
Thus, the overall probability is 1/2 x 1/3 = 1/6.

Answer: C
