Hi All,
What is the difference between these two sentences,
Her AID IN WALKING the dog was appreciated.
vs
HER AID TO WALK the dog was appreciated.
why is the later one wrong ?

My opinion. When comparing the ''-ing'' form of the verb to any other form, we prefer to avoid the -ing form. But this is on the condition that the other option is perfectly precise in wording, tense, subject-verb and wordiness. Hence in this example, we will avoid ''walking'' and go with ''to walk''.

But Manhattan GMAT SC says that second option has wrongly used Idiom and first option is correct.
I could not understand what is wrong in that.
