Hello

I would like some advice on how I stand as an MBA applicant at UT Mccombs and A&M. Here is my basic info:

3.5 GPA from Texas A&M, cum laude, BBA Finance

4 years of work experience, one in corporate finance and three as a multi-family developer for a REIT.

I also started my own business this year with two friends, a private training gym. We have been pretty successful; we have grown to over 65 clients.

GMAT: 660

I'll be applying for 2nd round.

So your application sounds quite strong. The GMAT and academic scores are well within range and interesting work experience. The actual linear career progression is going to need a great story. You'll need to explain why you only spent 1 year in corporate finance and why you picked your next steps. The goal is to show a progression that is leading to a clearly defined career ambition. You'll need to avoid sounding like you've picked your different paths aimlessly. It's a bit unfair, because no one really knows what they life long plans are, but MBA programs want to know that you're focused.

We do offer a free strategic consultation and a free essay edit. Please let me know if you'd like me to review a draft of an essay.

Best,
