Solution:
We need the value of (x-b).
Consider first (1) alone.
It says d = 60 degrees.
Now b+d =x, since in a triangle the exterior angle is sum of interior two angles.
Or d = x-b.
Or x - b = 60.
So (1) alone is sufficient.
Next consider (2) alone.
It says a + c = 100.
But this is not enough to give the value of (x-b).
So (2) alone is not sufficient.

The correct answer is (A).
