Other than perhaps not getting caught in the mass of applications submitted right before a round deadline, is there any tangible benefit to applying earlier within a round?

Thank you.

Obviously, if a school accepts rolling admissions, than the earlier the better. At almost every program with a standard deadline, the admissions officials have been explicit that applying early in a round has no effect on an applicant's chances. We've found this to be true.

I will say that many applicants find they run out of time at the last minute. Make sure you leave enough time to have your final drafts thoroughly proofread and polished...

Best,

Jay
