Ok, I see the point. I went back and reviewed the Princeton book explanation. And it's stated that don't pick answer choices that can be disputed. So, taking that into consideration answer choice C use ALL, and that can be disputed by saying that at least one friend doesn't know the same person for 40 years. So, yes, I guess E would make sense then.
