GMAT score of 650

by prateekag » Wed Aug 31, 2011 6:08 am
Hello,

I have got myself a score of 650 and I am from India. I have 2 yrs work exp as on today running my own business. It is a partnership firm. We do retail of Godrej Furniture & Kohler Bathroom stuff.

I am looking do to a General/Entrepreneurship MBA and am targeting schools like Marshall, Kelley, CMU, UCLA. Whereas my score might not be up to the mark my profile is good, so I have been advised.

So do you think I should try giving the GMAT again? Or otherwise how do I stand currently?

Thanks,
Prateek

Hmmm, well we need a bit more info here. Because the way it works is that if you don't have the GMAT you gotta be strong elsewhere.
So: How big is your business? How much turnover? how many people do you manage?
What school did you graduate from? what grades?
What was your degree in?
What extra currics do you have?
What community service do you have???
How old are you?
What are your post MBA and long term goals?

If you can give us some more info it'll be easier to evaluate you.

Hi prateekag,

Particular if you are applying to schools such as Marshall and UCLA Anderson, I recommend taking the GMAT again. The average GMAT score at Marshall in 2012 was 690.

Many people do not know that the GMAT score is self-reported on your business school application, so business schools will only focus on your highest score. Because of this, there isn't a downside to taking the test again (other than the cost and the amount of time spent studying).

Hope this was of help.
