We're told that X and Y are ODD integers. We're asked which of the following will always be a NON-INTEGER. This question can be solved by TESTing VALUES.

IF... X=3 and Y=3
Answer A: 9

Hello.

The key in this PS question is: "must always" be a non-integer.

a) xy, the product of two odd integers is integer. OUT.

b) x/y, if x=3 and y=1, then x/y is integer. So, it can be sometimes integer and sometimes not. OUT.

c) as above. OUT.

d) The product of to odd integers ALWAYS is an odd integer. So, xy/2 will be ALWAYS non-integer. CORRECT.

e) as option a). OUT.

I hope this answer can help you.

I'm available if you'd like a follow up.

Regards.
