The President.

The President made several promises about rollling back prices, but kept none during his second term.

A.kept none during his second term

B.kept up none of his promises during the second term

C.did not keep up any of his promises made during the earlier term

D.kept up not even one of the promises made earlier

E.kept up none of his earlier promises made during his second term

[spoiler]Ans:C[/spoiler]
But I am not convinced with the explanation of the option C.
The expln says "none brings in amiguity"...
but in this context"did not keep up any " and "kept up none" both sound fine enuf to me..
can someone elaborate on dis?

C is the only among the choices that conveys a clear meaning.

Kept none........does not make it clear what promises

We are talking about the promises that the president made during his first term.

My question to experts is that if we have

1 but kept up none of the promises he made during his previous term.
2 but did not keep up any of the promises he made during his previous term.

which is correct/ preferred??
