Total copies printed = 50000
Total copies sold = 50000 - 500 = 49500
Total copies sold at 1/2 price = 10% 0f 49500 = 4950
Total price sold at full price = 49500 - 4950 = 44550

Full price = $20
Half price = 20 * 1/2 = $10
Total revenue = (4950 * 10) + (44550 * 20)
= 49500 + 891000
=$940500

A publisher printed 50,000 copies of a book. All but 500 copies were sold
So, 50,000 - 500 = 49,500
So, 49,500 books we sold

Of the books sold, 10 percent were sold at half price, and the remaining copies were sold at the full price of $20.
10% of 49,500 = 4950
So, 4950 books sold for $10 apiece

49,500 - 4950 = 44,550
So, 44,550 books sold for $20 apiece

TOTAL revenue = (4950)($10) + (44,550)($20)
= 49,500 + 891,000
= 940,500
