y = mx – m + 3 = m(x - 1) + 3 passes through A(1, 3).
Since the line divides the triangle ABC evenly, it passes through the mid-point (4, 4) of BC.
Then the slope is (4 - 3) / (4 - 1) = 1/3.
Thus we have m = 1/3.

Therefore, B is the answer.
