I certainly appreciate the answer. However, as you may imagine, I already know what the correct answer is. I have posted this question here in order to get a more elaborate response, detailed solution, etc, etc, etc... all of the wonderful things that a forum such as this one usually provides.

Alright,
Here you go...

Conveyor length - 15 ft

2 circular wheels 1ft in diameter

Distance between the centers of the circles ?

Ans) Distance between the centers =
(Conveyor len - ( circumference of semi circles) * no of semi circles )/2

(15 - (pi r) *2 )/2

diameter = 1 => r = .5 = 1/2

=> (15-(pi * 1/2)*2)2

=> (15-pi)/2
