It is unrealistic to expect individual nations to make, independently, the sacrifices necessary to conserve energy. International leadership and worldwide cooperation are essential if we expect to protect the world’s energy resources for future generations.

Some people think that individual nations can not make the necessary sacrifices independently in order to conserve energy. Others state that international leadership and worldwide cooperation are not a requirement for protecting the world´s energy resources. This issue is a controversial one. However, there are several reasons reveal that, since conserving energy resources for future generations is a worldwide issue, it must be addressed with worldwide solutions.
One reason is the effect of the global warmth, which has made changes in global weather. For example, industrial waste in a certain country, generates more rain in other country. Consecuently, rivers have more water, and water-based electricity generation should be considered as a source of energy.
Another reason is the price of oil, which is the most common energy resource worldwide. Fuel is made of oil, therefore the costs of all transportations worldwide are linked to the price of oil. Having in mind that the less oil is available, the more expensive it is, oil generating countries should coordinate politics in order to ensure the availability of oil worldwide, and therefore maintain its price relatively low.
Perhaps the most important reason is that not every country has energetic resources. Argelia, for instance, does not have any energetic resources available in its extension. Clearly, it depends on energy generated in its neighbour countries. If its neighbour countries do not manage their energy resources wisely, people in Argelia not only will not be able to use energy but also will probably have to relocate to other countries. Therefore, countries with energetic resources should arrange energy consumption with those that have not got that kind of resources.
In conclusion, while there arguments to be made from both sides, it is clear that there are greater advantages to address the energy resources issue worldwide, since the effects of global wormth, the price of oil, and the scarcity of energy resources in some countries diminish the resolution of the problem independently by nations. Hence, it is better for the world’s future generations to face the energy issue with international leadership and cooperation.
