Hi,

Can you please give your opinions on the below questions?

1. If (4/X) < (1/3), what is the possible range if values for X?

2. If (4/X) < -(1/3), what is the possible range if values for X?

It would be great if the explanation is also provided!

Nitin

1. If 4/X < 1/3
=> 4*3 < x
=> 12 < x

For example, let x = 16
4/16 < 1/3
1/4 < 1/3

2. If 4/X < -(1/3)
=> 4*3 < -1*X
=> 12 < -X
=> X < -12

Hi,

Thanks for your reply!

It seems to be correct except for the fact that the case of X being negative is not considered.

The MGMAT books have a different answer to these questions :-

1. X<0 OR X>12
2. -12<X<0

I am not sure about the presence of ZERO in both the answers.
