There is never a "never"..... with that being said- some schools may view the MiM more favorably than others. The key is conveying WHY you want the MBA for the next step in your career- most likely you will look for the MBA to bring more advanced leadership development and so be sure to have some specific reasons why you want the MBA. I would be very specific with my post MBA goal and why you think the MBA is needed. It is good that you now have 4-5 yrs work-- and if you did the MiM very soon after undergrad you can likely argue that you now feel ready to get the MBA to dive deeper into a specific business area and also to dive deeper into leadership now that you have significant work experience. Absolutely! But I agree with my colleagues here that some schools will be more receptive than others, and that the key will be understanding the difference between the education you've had thus far and what you'll need from an MBA. especially a top MBA with an international focus. From your note, it sounds like you are doing the MiM relatively soon after your undergraduate degree, and that you will be working for a few years between that degree and applying for the MBA. This is ideal, because it will give you time to develop work experience and a career direction in which you can get exposed to people with MBAs and see what they have that you lack. You can also develop the targeted career focus that is ideal for application to top business schools; most schools, with the notable exception of MIT Sloan, want to know precisely where you see yourself headed post-MBA and why their MBA is crucial for that first step.

Since a top MBA program gives you so much more than hard skills -- relationship-building, industry exposure, etc -- there are many ways that it will be a fresh experience for you. Make sure you include that in your application materials when the time comes, and the MiM shouldn't present an obstacle to admission.
