Your profile is quite good but with a small chink which has become preposterous. Your Verbal score with the AWA score.

You need to pull your socks up very high to create a very good application.

About adding a few colleges, well, I would add a few from top 15. Stern is definite yes, Haas, Tuck and Duke and Sloan.

For a bit down, CMU and Purdue.

I need you to fill our template for exacting the college. It will also help us give you themes for scholarship essay.

Hi Alex,

thank you very much for your reply .Do you suggest to retake GMAT again . I am confident that I will rectify this mismatch atleast by (1.5 to 2 points),But then I will lose my early application advantage.

Also Regarding Top 15 colls,I m bit concerned about the Return on Investment part since scholarship chances are minimal in these colls and due to looming global recession , career oppurtunities (esp for international students) is also shrinking !

I will still prefer to do my MBA in US since I like the case study techniques followed there

Your GMAT score is fine, just that the 3.5 seems a little too low. Yes, there is a trade-off between another GMAT & R1 deadlines.

Sure, you have a higher chance of scholarship in slightly lower ranked schools. That, however does not necessarily mean a higher ROI. Top schools give you much better career options & better salaries.

Also, don't worry too much about the case study method. Almost any International B-school will be using this for some/all of its curriculum.

I would definitely add a couple of schools like Ross/Duke in your apply list. You are being very conservative.

Good Luck!

If you can put down a good essay, all the top colleges are crackable.
About low AWA score, try to build a defense in optional essay

Hi

Subha is perfectly right in suggesting the way to handle.

I belong to a different school when talking about ROI. I would say its in your right to think so but then its the best thing money would get you in recession or no-recession. Getting a scholarship is the main thing you should concentrate on. For that apply in more colleges. Take many $200 plunge.

Your main criteria should be which top colleges will certainly give me scholarship. I would not concern myself with a particular trade, and when IT is my first choice its even more easier to decide.
