A school has 60 students, each of whom studies either Cantonese or French. How many of them study French?
(1) The number of students who study French is 4 times the number of the students that study Cantonese.
(2) The number of students who study Cantonese is 36 less than the number who study French.

OA is E

I feel the answer should be D as the Q doesnt ask for only french or only Cantonese speakers but only the total no of speakers of Cantonese or French. Gurus.pls clarify

As per the language of the question posted above, the students, each speaks either french or cantonese, NOT both. so in the class there is no one who speaks both. So IMO D.
