Hi,

I answered a simple DS question wrong and it's because of my analysis that there must be 52 Fridays in a Year (although I wish there were most Fridays than any other day in the year, it's story for another time). This is how I got to it..

365 divided by 7 is 52 with 1 day left. If Jan 1st starts on a Monday, then Dec 31st ends on a Tuesday. If it were a leap year, then Dec 31st ends on a Wednesday. Ahh damn! I answered my own question, if Jan 1st starts on a Thursday then there are 53 Fridays. I will continue with the posting though; some one else may find it useful and avoid the pitfall.

There may or may not be an extra Friday apart from the guaranteed 52 in a given year, be it an ordinary or a leap one.
