Is z an odd integer?

(1) z is divisible by 3.
(2) The square root of z is an integer divisible by 3.

How will i solve this to come up with the best option?

Pick simple numbers.
Statement 1 - Case 1: z = 9. YES, z is odd.
Case 2: z = 36. NO z is not odd.

Statement 2. We can use the same two values again. So statement 2 is not sufficient and the statements taken together are not sufficient. The answer is E
