At consolidation foundries for a resolution, to become policy a quorum of at least half the 20 directors must pass the resolution by at least two thirds majority. At a meeting of board directors did the resolution X fail or pass?

1.10 Members voted for the resolution

2.7 members voted against the resolution

OA is
: B
My understanding:

"at least half the 20 directors must pass the resolution by at least two thirds majority"

atleast half (10 directors) must vote by two thirds majority .i.e 6.66 or 7 members should vote to pass the resolution.

But this is wrong with respect to the OA

Pls help me understand where i went wrong.

Thanks

If 7 voted against it, the measure failed no matter what. Even if all 20 showed up to vote, they would have needed 14 people to vote for it (2/3 of 20 is 13.33); they couldn't have gotten 14 in favor if there were 7 against.

But then stmt 1 also says the same. If 10 members voted for resolution means that the 2/3 majority was not achieved.
By this way the answer should be : D

No, case is not same from the (1) alone, it only says that 10 members voted for the resolution, now if 16 to all 20 members have voted, then resolution X is failed; and if 11 to 15 members have voted, the resolution X is passed. That's why it's insufficient
