Interpret the Question

by Buix0065 » Sun Jul 24, 2011 6:16 am
If r is represented by the decimal 0.t5 what is the digit t?

1. r < 1/3
2. r < 1/10
Answer is: B... Could this problem be interpreted in terms of r being < 1/10 so r could be a negative number? Making t qualify to be any digit? In this situation, what is the cue that tells you r must be positive? In most cases the GMAT is good about saying something is a positive integer.
r is clearly given as 0.t5. So we have to accept it is a positive number.
For, e.g. 0.05 is a positive number.
Vineesh,
Just telling you what I know and think. I am not the expert. :)
