x is one of the numbers 3 or 6. Is xy equal to 12?

(1) Exactly one of the following is true: x equals 3 or y does not equal 2.
(2) Exactly one of the following is true: x equals 6 or y does not equal 4.

x is either 3 or 6.
A) let x equals 3 be true. then y not equal 2 is false or it means y=2. thus xy=6.
if y does not equal 2 is true, x equals 3 is false or x=6 (x is either 3 or 6 ).
x=6 and y is not equal to 2, thus xy not equal to 12. Sufficient
B) let x equals 6 be true. then y not equal 4 is false or it means y=4. thus xy=24.
if y does not equal 4 is true, x equals 6 is false or x=3 (x is either 3 or 6 ).
x=3 and y is not equal to 4, thus xy not equal to 12. Sufficient
