How many integers are there between, but not including, integers a and b ?


(1) b - a = 8

(2) There are 7 integers between, but not including, a - 1 and b - 1.

This is an easy one. It has to be D.

1) B-a = 8 so think 8-6=2 including 8 so between b and a there are 7 integers not including b and a.

2) a-1 and b-1 have no effect on the question. statement 2 explicitly says there are 7 integers betweeen a and b
