What is the average of a, b, and c?

1. 2a + b + 4c = 23
2. 3a + 4b + c = 22

St.1) 2a +b+4c = 23 so we don't know all the values we require atleast 2 values.....not suff...

combined: add the two values so 5a + 5b + 5c = 45 --> a+b+c= 9 so avg 9/3 = 3----suff. Ans C

I think u have done mistake in addition in haste...
23+ 22 = 45 ....
so 5a+5b+5c=45 ....
