Does line r have a greater y-intersect than line k?

Hello,

For the following can you please tell me if my approach is correct?

Does line r have a greater y-intersect than line k?

(1) Line r's x-intersect is greater than line k's.
(2) Line r is parallel to line k.



Image_1 and Image_2 satisfy both 1 and 2 and are in-sufficient. Hence answer is E. The OA says C though. Can you please assist with this?

Hey Sri,

Your approach is perfect - the correct answer should, indeed, be E
Are you sure the answer key says it's C?

NOTE: Your first diagram isn't quite correct in that the two lines are not parallel. One has a slope of 1/2 and one has a slope of 2/3 (and parallel lines have slopes that are equal). If I were you, I'd just make your first diagram similar to the second diagram and make the slope 1 for each line. Or you could just sketch the lines as parallel without providing any coordinates.

Hello Brent,

Thank you very much for your prompt response and for clarifying the correct answer. This question source has some errors I noticed. This question is a part of some Geometry problems that I got for practicing. Thanks also for the information about the slopes. I totally forgot about it. Thanks for all your help.
